Wood Badge is considered the premier leadership training for Scout leaders in all program areas and Scout professionals.
The Wood Badge experience comes with decades of Scouting knowledge, a skilled and helpful staff, and a guided tour through the Scouting program. The first part of Wood Badge is the experiential course, which takes place over two three-day weekends and includes leadership classes, games, activities and lots of meaningful conversation. The second part of Wood Badge is the ticket, a series of five goals you choose to complete, using your newly acquired skills, to benefit your home unit and local community.
The course will be held over two weekends: February 17-19 and March 17-19. Arrival for the first day of each weekend is 7:30 a.m. Departure on the last day of each weekend is 5 p.m. To graduate, attendance at all portions of the training is mandatory. The first weekend is held primarily in a classroom with overnight stay in campsites. The second weekend is an outdoor camping experience. A full, complete, and official adult leader uniform will be worn during the course. You must complete all basic training courses for your current primary registered Scouting position before the first day of this course. A current BSA Annual Heath and Medical Record, parts A, B, and C is also required.
